At the heart of CBA model un and middle mun is a drive to create, instruct, and guide the future leaders of tomorrow.
A Storied History
CBA Model UN is currently the largest active-participation club at CBA; our Middle MUN conference is not only the biggest day of the year for us but also for the larger CBA community.
Model UN has always been an important club to CBA, serving as one of the school’s most award-winning academic clubs. Moderated by Dr. John Gustavsen, the club sends CBA delegates to a variety of college-level conferences along the Northeast United States, including those held by Georgetown University, Boston University, and the University of Pennsylvania.
However, most of Model UN’s recent success and growth can be traced back to its Middle School Model United Nations Conference (Middle MUN). Created in 2013, Middle MUN has become one of the largest Model United Nations conferences in Monmouth County.
The Twelfth Annual Middle MUN Conference (Middle MUN XII), under the leadership of Secretaries-General Aidan Zagel and Steven Yurcisin, has seen a growth of about 75%, a staggering number for a conference with such humble beginnings.
As we prepare for the future, we remain endlessly committed to creating leaders with virtue and moral sensibility — powerful leaders who are desperately needed in the world. We truly believe we are changing the world one delegate at a time and hope that you will join us along our journey.

A Model UN conference simulates the operations of the United Nations, allowing students to step into the roles of diplomats, engaging in discussions about global issues. Participants represent different countries, working together to draft resolutions and navigate complex debates on topics ranging from climate change to human rights. The conference fosters critical thinking, public speaking, and negotiation skills while promoting a deeper understanding of international relations. Through collaboration and diplomacy, students gain insight into the workings of global governance and the importance of cooperation in addressing pressing world challenges.

Middle MUN is an engaging platform at Christian Brothers Academy designed to introduce middle school students to the fundamentals of Model United Nations. We empower participants to explore international relations and diplomacy while developing critical skills such as public speaking, research, and negotiation.
The conference not only encourages a passion for global affairs but also fosters teamwork and leadership among delegates. By simulating real-world issues, Middle MUN cultivates an understanding of diverse perspectives and the importance of collaborative problem-solving, preparing students for future endeavors in civic engagement and international discourse.

Middle MUN offers a variety of opportunities to get involved; some members work on Model UN every day, whereas some only help out on the day of the conference. We are able to accommodate any and every activity you do, allowing you to express your passion for Model UN in whatever way suits you!
