United NationS Security Council:
Western sahara-Morocco conflict
The United Nations Security Council has been brought together to mediate the future of the Sahrawi Republic and Morocco. As historical and modern arguments collide in this committee, delegates will be tasked on their ability to provide an immediate humanitarian response to the crisis, to address living conditions and human rights conflicts in the situation; to proceed with a long-term situation addressing both the self-determination of the Sahrawis and Morocco’s historical ties to the region, and to ensure regional stability in West Africa. Delegates will be tested on their abilities to cooperate despite disagreements, introduce and negotiate innovative ways to address the problems in the region, and work in this high stakes situation.
